Sometimes you’ll handle a lead directly - a phone call, a referral, someone you already spoke with. In those cases, you need to remove them from the automated text sequence so they don’t keep getting follow-up texts.
If you schedule an appointment for a lead (whether through the CRM or by calling them directly and booking it yourself), they are automatically unenrolled from the text automations. No manual removal needed.

Remove a Lead from Text Automations

If you’ve already spoken to a lead or handled them manually:

Open the contact

Find the contact in your CRM and open their record.

Go to Actions → Workflows

Click the Actions button and select Workflows.

Find the active workflow

Look for the workflow labeled Initial Text Follow Up (the name may vary slightly by niche).

Remove them

Remove them from that workflow. If you don’t see it listed, they’re already out.
If you do not remove them, they will continue receiving automated texts even after you’ve already spoken with them.

Kill All Convos Tag

If you need to immediately stop all outreach for a lead, run the Kill All Convos workflow on their contact record. This turns off the AI and removes them from all active workflows in one step.

Taking Over a Conversation

If you’re jumping into an active conversation:
  1. Turn off the AI (see AI On / Off)
  2. Handle the conversation manually
  3. Turn the AI back on when you’re done, or leave it off if you’re managing this lead yourself
